This image of a fly is also a panorama image for which stitching was necessary in addition to focusstacking. It does not consist of as many images as the butterfly wing, but it also has a resolution of several hundred megapixels.What is particularly interesting about this fly are the so-called swinging cilia, which are rudiments of the second set of wings that are still present in other insects. They help the fly to stabilise itself in flight and thus still have an important function despite the evolutionary regression.
Auch bei diesem Bild einer Fliege handelt es sich um ein Panorama-Bild, für das neben Focusstacking auch Stitching nötig war. Es besteht nicht aus so vielen Bilder wie der Schmetterlingsflügel, weißt jedoch auch eine Auflösung von einigen Hundert Megapixeln auf.
Besonders interessant an dieser Fliege sind die sogenannten Schwingkölbchen, die Rudimente des zweiten Satzes Flügel, die bei anderen Insekten noch vorhanden sind, darstellen. Sie helfen der Fliege sich im Flug zu stabilisieren und haben so trotz der evolutionären Rückbildung noch eine wichtige Funktion.
